There was only a few days left until Calla went home for Christmas break, and that meant there were only a few days left to practice. Sure, she'd be bringing her broom back with her, and she had a quaffle at home, but there she didn't have anyone to practice with or any goals that made it all in all, less efficient of a task. She could run drills though, but while she had the pitch she had every plan to make use of it when another team wasn't practicing. With only three months of practice behind her, she was still stuggling. She knew she held the team back - which is why she always tried to practice in her free time. Why she was now.

Propped up on her broom, she gripped the quaffle loosely, tossing the ball through the hoops, or at least attempting to. She changed her position a few times, attempting to score from different places. After a few more goes, she noticed eyes on her. Twisting the broom around, she narrowed her eyes to see who was on the ground before waving hello and lowering the broom.

Making the quidditch team was perhaps the best thing that had happened all year long. He'd spent his entire first year following the professional league and longing for the chance to play with the older Gryffindors, and now he could actually play!

In hindsight, perhaps joining the quidditch team wasn't the best thing to help him with his struggling grades, but it definitely brought a lot of fun! "What are you doing up there all alone, Miss Potts?" he called teasingly. "Practicing flying? You can't really practice quidditch on your own!"

"Mr. Gillenwater! Hello," she chimed, happy to recognize the figure that was fast approaching her as she lowered herself from the sky, ball lightly tucked under her arm. She wore her uniform - she really needed to find something else to practice in so she didn't mess it up, but dresses really didn't work. They weighed too much and slowed her down along with hindering her movements.

Unlike the Mr. Gillenwater she had just greeted, playing Quidditch hadn't been her obsession long. Rather the Slytherin Seeker had planed the idea in her head during the latter part of the summer, from which she had then practiced constantly. Growing up, Salone had always been interested in Quidditch, so she had played a few times with the other girl and her brothers, but never seriously before then. Which was why she practicing now. Or attempting to.

"I'm trying to run drills. I couldn't find anyone to practice with me - and I really need to practice before the break - so drills it was. I was practicing my aim. I figured if I could get it down throwing it without the distractions, I could be better with them!"

Yes, her concept of competition outside of the actual games was a bit off. She'd pick it up eventually, but as of now, she saw no harm in telling her game plan to the other chaser, even when he was on another team.

While some of his teammates (and likely members of the other teams) thought of quidditch as a school career of sorts, Cameron thought of it as something fun to do on the side. He wasn't yet to an age where he knew whether quidditch could become a potential career; the thought of soaring through the quidditch pitch on a regular basis and having his name plastered on the front of the Daily Prophet as a "champion", however, didn't at all sound unappealing.

While some of his teammates would likely prefer to practice among their own ranks, Cameron had no qualms about practicing with a member of an opposing team. "Would you like a partner? We could race and practice some tricks!" he offered, his eyes turning to the brooms the sat on the grass farther out on the pitch.
